Is Uganda and Africa in general ready for GMO?

In 2008, the Ugandan Cabinet approved the National Biotechnology and Biosafety policy, whose objective is to ensure that Uganda benefits from safe application of modern biotechnology such as Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs).

Consequently, the National Biotechnology and Biosafety Bill 2012 was developed with objectives to guide implementation of the aforesaid policy; and minimize and manage any potential risks to the environment, human and animal health that may be associated with GMOs. In October 2017, parliament passed the National Biosafety Act 2017.

in 2017, President Kaguta Museveni declined to sign into law the National Biotechnology and Biosafety Bill, 2012. The bill seeks to provide a regulatory framework that facilitates the safe development and application of biotechnology, research, development and release of genetically modified organisms. In his letter to speaker of Parliament, Hon. Rebecca Kadaga, the president sent the bill back to parliament to clarify among other issues, its title, patent rights of indigenous farmers and sanctions for scientists who mix GMOs with indigenous crops and animals. Frequent headaches could be fatal!

I was left sagging in space after losing a relative to severe headaches and convulsions. No one would wish to lose their loved ones especially when they are still young. The lose left me wondering and searching for clueless leads to a number of questions. I have talked to quite a number of persons since then that I know could have a lead to this and also reading online about this deadly non-communicable disease (NCD). I have come to sum it up all that a headache that just won’t go away could mean a severe disease or condition that need cardinal attention.

If you suffer from chronic headaches like migraines, tension headaches, sinus headaches or cluster headaches, it can easily throw your life off track into a death trap. If the headaches have been a regular feature in your life, you know your triggers and ways to avoid them.

I have come across number reasons one could be suffering from a headache. But this might not entirely put you off the line; it is better to visit a credible health worker with experience in that area.
